Teams consist of eight to 20 skaters that perform side by side on the ice. There are five required elements; circle, line, block, wheel and intersection. The purpose for the competition is to promote a fun, introductory competitive experience for the beginning skater.

The Glenview Blades teams dazzled the crowd once again as the Beginner and Pre Juvenile teams took home the Gold medal. In addition, members of the Figure Skate School of Glenview competed individually at the Winter Blizzard Basic Skills competition.

The team’s competition schedule will then take them to the The Freeze Competition at the Glenview Ice Center in February, Highland Park and Hoffman Estates in March and much more. For additional information, visit www.glenviewblades.org.
