Church Announces Information Session About Trip to Israel/Palestine
From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 1, Congregational United Church of Christ will host an information session regarding a fall opportunity to travel to Israel and Palestine. Anyone interested in learning more about the trip or the interwoven histories of Jews, Muslims and Christians in Israel and Palestine is welcome.
The trip is being coordinated by the Pilgrims of Ibillin (http://www.pilgrimsofibillin.org/), a non-profit organization that supports peace in Israel/Palestine through education-based initiatives. Participants will have a unique opportunity to meet the people—both children and adults—of Israel and Palestine; see the holy sites in Nazareth, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem; and interact with the church leaders, community leaders, peacemakers, and peacekeepers who are actively shaping the future of this region.
At the February 1st meeting, Reverend Joan Deming, Executive Director of the Pilgrims of Ibillin, will provide background information and discuss the highlights of past pilgrimages while addressing questions and expectations.
Congregational United Church of Christ (1001 W. Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005) is an open and affirming institution that welcomes everyone. To reserve your spot at this program, contact CUCC at (847) 392-6650.
