Schaumburg firefighters gear up for second Pink Tie Ball

The Schaumburg Professional Firefighters Association, which raised $25,000 in 2013 to fund cancer research, isn’t resting on its laurels.

Plans for the second Pink Tie Ball are in full swing, and tickets are presently on sale for the Oct. 18, 2014 event to be held at the Schaumburg Marriott.

In 2013, the Pink Tie committee members decided they wanted to donate the money to more than one place, to ensure it helped fight all kinds of cancer. So, the Schaumburg firefighters split the funds between Alexian Brother’s Breast Cancer Ambassadors and the American Cancer Society Research Foundation.

Schaumburg firefighters also vowed to make the Pink Tie Ball an annual event, open to the public.
