Knights of Columbus hosting Free Throw Championship for boys, girls

Knights of Columbus Mount Prospect Council 6481 invites all girls and boys, ages 9-14, to participate in the Council level of competition for the 2014 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship on Monday, Jan. 20, at St. Emily’s Gym, 1400 E. Central Road, Mount Prospect. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m.; competition starts at 5 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus sponsors the Free Throw Championship annually, with Council winners progressing through District, Regional and State competitions. Girls and boys 9-14 years old can participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of Jan. 1, 2014.

All contestants on the Council level will receive certificates for their participation in the event. Champions receive plaques for their respective age division. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.
