Hanover Park man guilty of defrauding bank
A Hanover Park man pleaded guilty Wednesday to defrauding an Arlington Heights bank.
In exchange for Jovanny D. Sosa’s guilty plea, Cook County Judge Thomas Fecarotta sentenced the 22-year-old to two years probation and ordered him to stay away from TCF bank.
Sosa, who has no criminal background, set up several fraudulent savings and checking accounts at a Wood Dale bank branch and then accessed the accounts from the Arlington Heights TCF branch where he worked, prosecutors said during Sosa’s bond hearing last year.
Authorities say he electronically transferred money into the accounts which co-defendants Benjamin Andrade, 21, and Antonio Rodriguez, 22, both of Hanover Park, subsequently withdrew.
Similar charges are pending against Andrade and Rodriguez, who next appear in court on Monday.
