Holiday Hoedown wraps up Sunday in Grayslake
The Holiday Hoedown, which blends seasonal festivities with old-fashioned fun, will end its weeklong run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.
The indoor winter festival at the Lake County Fairgrounds features a Magical Midway of rides for every age, carnival-style games, trees decorated by community organizations and families, and seasonal food and drink.
Santa strolls through daily.
Visit grazing animals, try your hand at rope making, marvel at antique tractors, take a hayride with Cletus or a journey on Rudolph’s Barrel Train — all at Santa’s Farm, presented by Santa’s friends at the Lake County Farm Heritage Association.
Nearby at Frosty’s Fairway, perfect your mini-golf on a festive nine-hole course.
Youngsters can meet new friends and have old-fashioned fun in the bounce house.
Moms and dads can toast the season at Blitzen’s Brewery.
Cost is $10 per vehicle, $25 for 15-passenger vans and stretch limos, and $50 for schools and coach buses. All rides are $1. Hayrides and mini-golf are $4 each.
