Pro-Life Action League hosts Empty Manger Christmas Caroling Day
Pro-Life Action League Christmas caroling offers hope to mothers of unborn babies this Saturday
What would Christmas be without the Baby Jesus? What will Christmas be like this year in all those homes with missing babies — all the babies who would have experienced their first Christmas this year?
It's with that sobering thought that pro-life Christmas carolers will move through the western suburbs singing songs around an empty manger as they visit Du Page County abortion clinics.

WHY: As pro-life advocates gather to sing on this Empty Manger Christmas Caroling Day, it is with the hope that songs such as “What Child is This?” and “Away in a Manger” will touch the mothers who arriving at these clinics intending to abort their babies.
“It has happened before,” recalled Eric Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League, “We were singing 'Silent Night' outside of a Chicago abortion clinic when a young woman came out, approached one of our carolers, and said that our singing made her think about Mary and Baby Jesus and she just couldn't go through with her abortion.” The woman was directed to a nearby pregnancy center for help.
“The empty manger has been a symbol of hope through the centuries, placed in the Christmas crèche in anticipation of the birth of the Christ child celebrated at Christmas,” explained Scheidler. “But the empty manger also represents the emptiness left behind by abortion — the emotional and spiritual vacuum where a baby once was. We don't want any woman to experience that, and that's why we'll be there to offer our message of hope,” he added.
Simultaneous caroling tours will take place the morning of December 21, one visiting four abortion facilities in Du Page County and the other visiting five in Chicago. The Chicago area events have inspired Empty Manger Caroling in Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis, and other locales.
