Magician to perform at Schaumburg High fundraiser

The Schaumburg High School’s Arts Alive program hosts magician Bill Cook in a fundraiser performance 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the school auditorium. Tickets for adults are $7 and students and children under the age of 12 are $5.

“This year, Arts Alive is introducing our first evening fundraiser open to the public,” said Kim Shade, chair of Arts Alive Week and art teacher at Schaumburg High School. “The mission is to raise monies in tandem with the VIP grant that solely funds Arts Alive. It is also a wonderful opportunity for the community to be a part of Arts Alive Week.”

Cook is referred to as the “Future of Magic.” He is a three-time winner of the Lance Burton award of excellence, and recently won second place in the world for his magic in the World Magic Seminar International Close-Up Competition held in Las Vegas. He also took first place and the People’s Choice Award at the Chicago Magic Competition and was the youngest competitor.

Arts Alive is celebrating its 13th year of bringing the arts (dance, music, theater and the visual arts) to Schaumburg High School.
