Get into the holiday spirit with Elburn Christmas Stroll

The Elburn Chamber of Commerce will host the 18th annual Elburn Christmas Strollfrom 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. The Christmas Stroll begins at 5 p.m. with the arrival of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus in the village of Elburn.
Activities occur throughout the village and include a variety of fun opportunities.
Visit and have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Town & Country Public Library, courtesy of the library, Old Second National Bank and Walgreens. An open house at the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District firehouse will be sure to catch attention with their safety house and tree-burning demonstrations at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The Citizen Emergency Response Team Trailer will be on Main Street in front of American Bank & Trust, which will again offer trail-mix creations for the young at heart.
Remember the veterans as you view the decorated Christmas tree in front of the American Legion Hall, donated by the Legion and decorated by village staff. While you’re there, check your raffle tickets when you stop at 7 p.m. for the Legion’s grand prize raffle drawing.
And, of course, include a visit to Ream’s Market for a variety of culinary delights. Food is available from several fine eateries in the village, including Paisano’s Pizza and Grill and Schmidt’s Towne Tap.
Be sure to visit the many Nativity displays from around the world at St. Gall’s Church. Observe Conley’s annual manger dedication on Route 47 and Pierce and view the many offerings available at Amazing Grace Antiques.
Don’t forget to stop by Elburn Hill Church’s Christmas Café to view the decorated Christmas trees on display and enjoy the Lamplight singers.
Enjoy one of many activities at the Elburn & Countryside Community Center, including the Holiday Craft Bazaar with goods and services for last-minute shopping ideas, play Elburn Herald’s life-size version of traditional Candy Land, view Edward Jones’ children’s coloring contest entries and results, participate in Jewel’s cookie decorating for the kids, and view martial arts, dance and music demonstrations, silent auction, decorative holiday wreaths, a Santa train ride.
Many of the downtown stores will be open late Friday, Dec. 6, to share refreshments and information about their business.
Free continuous heated shuttle service will be available to the events throughout Elburn, with stops at the Town and Country Public Library, Route 47 by Ream’s parking lot, Elburn and Countryside Community Center, Jewel parking lot, Elburn Hill Church parking lot, and downtown area.
