One dead in I-55 crash

One person died in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on I-55 southbound near Darien, according to officials.

The male victim, who has not yet been identified by officials, was the driver of one of the vehicles, according to a news release from the DuPage County coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene, which occurred around 5:30 a.n. Sunday near Lemont Road.

The coroner’s office and Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
