Wins for Palatine, Hersey, Wheeling
Palatine’s boys basketball team improved to 2-0 in its own Ed Molitor Thanksgiving Classic by topping Chicago Alcott 51-41 on Wednesday.
Chris Macahon scored a team-best 20 points to lead the way for Palatine. Dondre Watson made a pair of 3’s and finished with 10 points, and five more players scored in single digits for the Pirates, who next meet Niles North at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
Hersey 72, Robeson 48: Hersey improved to 2-1 as Brandon Hatten scored 25 points in Niles West tournament play.
Max Heeren scored 15 points, with Alex Mueller chipping in with 9 and Payton Haas scoring 8.
Wheeling 69, Ridgewood 43: Wheeling improved to 2-1 in the Ridgewood tournament as Jeremy Stephani scored 24 points and Bobby Webber added 15 against the host team.
