Lipp, Libertyville nip Maine South

Libertyville’s boys basketball team pulled out a close one Wednesday night.

Jack Lipp scored 15 points, as the Wildcats edged Maine South 44-43 at Maine West. Joe Borcia chipped in 10 for Libertyville (2-0).

Stevenson 70, Christian Liberty 30: At Buffalo Grove, the Patriots cruised, improving to 3-0 with their third win in as many nights.

McHenry 62, Antioch 49: At Crystal Lake Central,A.J. Marsiglio scored a game-high 24 points and hit three 3-pointers, as the Sequoits fell to 1-1 in the tourney.

Kyle Postal (14 points), Cody Freund (11), Mike Lawrence (11) and Greg Johnson (10) led McHenry (2-0).

Vernon Hills 66, Guerin 40: At Northridge Prep, Sam Rattner scored 22 points and Robby Nardini added 21 for the Cougars.
