Adler Park Fifth-Graders to Hold Musical Show-N-Tell

Adler Park first through fifth grade students will hold a “Music Show-N-Tell” on Dec. 12 and 13 to show off their musical skills with song or by playing an instrument.

The Show-N-Tell is held during the regular music classes, taught by Jack Turner.

“I created this once-a-year day for kids to show off their musical talents to the other students in their class,” Turner said. “All students are encouraged to do "something musical" on that day. Some students will be able to play a band or orchestra instrument, a few students may sing and other students may want to show something and talk about it.

In the past, students have brought band and orchestra instruments, as well as acoustic or electric guitars, harmonicas, whistles and some students have danced too. To get into the spirit, Turner plays holiday songs on the cornet and trombone for his students in class.
