Give workers a break; don’t shop on holiday
Thanksgiving the holiday is now just another sale day. I had a hard time understanding Black Friday with my wife shopping before the sun has risen. Now we have sales on Turkey Day.
Have we really become such consumers that we can’t respect the retail workers’ families during a holiday anymore? The retail worker is now being treated like a public servant, expected to work holidays as part of their job description.
I say we boycott retailers on Thanksgiving and take back the holiday so we can spend quality family time together. If the registers don’t ring and the lots are empty, retailers will stop going down this ridiculous path next year.
I pledge to overcome the need to shop this Thanksgiving and give the retail workers a day with their families. I hope you can join me in my boycott. Peace.
