Accretive Health receives certification

Accretive Health, Inc., (NYSE: AH) is proud to announce that its Chicago Shared Services Center (CSSC), in Illinois, recently completed a Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization (SOC1), examination of its patient financial services system. A copy of the report is available to customers who used the system during the period, upon request.

Finalized by the auditing standards board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 2010, SSAE 16 is considered the authoritative guidance for reporting on service organizations.

A SOC1 examination allows an organization to have its controls relevant to their user entities internal controls over financial reporting evaluated and tested by an independent party. In many operational areas, this process often results in the identification of opportunities for improvements.

“Our clients also receive a detailed description of our controls and an independent assessment of whether the controls were placed in operation, suitably designed, and operating effectively,” Field added. “The examination is well-recognized for its significance by our clients and auditing leadership.
