Elgin High School
The fall play, Arsenic and Old Lace will be presented Thursday, October 31 at 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 1 at 7:00 P.M., and Saturday, November 2 (our “community matinée”) at 11:00 A.M. It is a “revamp” of the classic 1940s horror-suspense-comedy made famous by the legendary actor Cary Grant. (How appropriate for the Halloween season!)
Performances will take place in the EHS Auditorium. Tickets are $5 each. There is a $2 discount for senior citizens, and a $1 discount for anyone who wears a school appropriate costume on Halloween Eve.
Elgin High School Choral Department will present its Fall Concert on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 pm in the Chester C. Alexander Auditorium. 5 choirs will perform under the direction of Rosalind Zager. Tickets will be sold at the door. Prices are: $2.00 Adults, $1.00 Students.
South Elgin High School
South Elgin High School presents "The Diary of Anne Frank" at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 7-8, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the auditorium
Students and Senior Citizens: $6.00 and Adults: $8.00

On Nov. 14 from 6-8 p.m., the high school is hosting all prospective students and their parents at the 8th Grade Curriculum Night to be held in the auditorium. Students and parents will be given information on course selection, academic programs, and unique opportunities for students and parents to get involved in the school.
Parents and students are cordially invited to a Heroin Awareness Event on Wednesday November 20th from 6pm-8pm in the auditorium. Representatives from the South Elgin and Bartlett Police Departments, Kane County Coroner and Sheriff's Office will conduct an informational session followed by Q/A on the topic of the rising epidemic of heroin addiction in our society.
Horizon Elementary
On Friday, November 1st, Horizon students and staff will be hosting active duty and military veterans here at the school. This will be an opportunity for our students and staff to recognize our area veterans and active duty military members and learn more about Veteran's Day prior to November 11th. Coffee and rolls will be served beginning at 7:30AM. Students have been preparing special songs for our guests that will be part of our morning program. After the morning assembly, some of our honored guests will be visiting our students in their classrooms. Please pass along this information to any family, friends, and community members that have served or are serving in the military and would be interested in joining us on Friday, November 1, 2013. Laurel Hill Elementary
On Friday's 11/1, 11/8, 11/15 & 11/22 from 8:00 AM-9:30 AM "Mom's & Tot's" Playgroup in the gym. Fun activities in a Preschool setting.
On Tuesday's 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, & 11/26 from 2:00-3:30 PM "Crossroads" Kid's Club in the gym.
On Tuesday, 11/12 from 3-6:00 PM Health Clinic, low cost physicals and immunizations. Appointments are necessary please phone 847 608-1344 to schedule an appointment.
On Wednesday's 11/6, 11/13 & 11/20 from 6-7:30 PM "Navigating the American Education System" Workshop for Parents. Babysitting is available. Helpful instruction for parents regarding student curriculum as well as helpful hints and strategies.
On Monday's and Wednesday's from 6-9:00 PM Adult ESL classes sponsored by the YWCA of Elgin.
On Fridays from 2-6:00 PM Hanover Township Open Gym will be held. This consists of supervised fun activities for students.
On Friday, November 22nd 6-8:30 PM PTLH sponsored Family Movie Night. Admission for this event will be 50 cents for children & $1.00 for adults. Refreshments and other fun foods will be available to purchase.
Prairieview Elementary
On Thursday, October 31, the PTO will be hosting the Second Annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser. The “Boo 1.5K” will be conducted as part of a broader focus on health and wellness and will be highlighted by Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating “healthy-style”, and lots of prizes for participating students!
