Advocate Medical Group teams up with Dr. Oz, Fox 32 to offer residents free flu shots

Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of the famed “Dr. Oz Show” is coming to the Windy City and teaming up with Advocate Medical Group and Fox 32 to raise awareness about the importance of flu shots. The “Free Yourself from the Flu” event will provide 1,000 free flu shots to community residents given by Advocate physicians and clinicians.

Annual flu-associated deaths in the United States range from a low of about 3,000 to a high of about 49,000 people, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The goal is to help keep our communities healthy this cold and flu season,” said Dr. Jim Dan, president Advocate Medical Group. “As part of Advocate Health Care, we are committed to building healthier communities and this is one way we are sharing the importance of flu shots and how they help save lives.”

WHEN: Tuesday, October 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Advocate Medical Group’s, Nesset Pavillion, 1775 Ballard Road, Park Ridge. Nesset is located on the north side of the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital campus.
