Fire district sets informational meeting for residents

The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District will hold an informational meeting for residents on expected changes accompanying its Jan. 1 separation from the Barrington Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at Countryside School, W. County Line Road in Barrington Hills.

The fire district is ending its long contractual relationship for service from the village of Barrington because the two agencies could no longer agree on the best level of personnel and equipment to serve the 48-square-mile district.

Barrington Countryside includes parts of Barrington Hills, Lake Barrington, South Barrington, Inverness and unincorporated Cook, Lake and McHenry counties.
