British band The Wanted cancels Barrington visit
British boy band The Wanted have canceled their planned Wednesday visit to Barrington High School, citing scheduling issues.
However, the five students who worked on the school’s music video set to the band’s song, “Glad You Came,” have been invited to meet the band in person before their Wednesday night performance at The Vic in Chicago. Tickets to the concert are expected to be made available to some students during the school day.
Efforts to bring the band to Barrington High first arose about two years ago. As part of the preparations, the school’s Orchesis dance group produced the video to “Glad You Came.” That planned visit fell through, but the band saw the video and again made plans to stop by the high school this week to play an acoustic set and hold a question-and-answer session with students.
“The students are very disappointed,” Barrington Unit District 220 spokesman Jeff Arnett said.
