Bartlett wins regional opener

Bartlett’s boys soccer team got goals from five different players Saturday to beat Willowbrook 5-2 in the play-in game of the Class 3A Conant regional.

Joey Butler, Igor Zwada, Timmy Riordan, Justin Busch and Andrew Gott each found the back of the net, with Timmy Riordan, Busch, Marcus Singleton and Zwada each contributing an assist.

Jake Hasenstein (3 saves) and Andrew Nowak (2 saves) shared time in goal for the Hawks.

Bartlett (5-12-13) will take on Lake Park at Conant High School at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the regional semifinals.
