Glenview resident Kelly Tousi, Principal at ZS Associates, Named One of Consulting Magazine's Top Women Leaders in Consulting for 2013

— Kelly recognized for expertise and commitment to client service —

Kelly Tousi, a principal at global consulting firm ZS Associates, was named one of this year's top 12 women consultants by Consulting® magazine.

Consulting magazine's “Women Leaders in Consulting” awards identify the country's leading female consultants in four categories. Kelly is one of 12 winners selected this year from a pool of more than 400 nominations. She was honored for her distinguished commitment to client service and will receive her award at Consulting magazine's gala on Nov. 7 at The St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, N.Y. in front of industry leaders and executives.

“This award is a tremendous honor,” said Kelly. “It is an acknowledgement that my passion to bring value to clients has an impact. But more than that, it also represents a responsibility – to inspire and support women interested in consulting to join our ranks, and to help women in the profession thrive and grow into our future leaders.”

Client Service Challenges and Achievements:

Kelly has helped companies in the medical device, diagnostics and healthcare supply chain industries transform their sales organizations and enhance their sales and marketing strategy and execution.

“My passion comes from the opportunity to work with clients and help implement changes that will make them more successful,” said Kelly. “All of my work – and that of consultants generally – involves change to some degree. I am energized when I work with ZS clients to determine not only what should be done, but how to do it.”

As a leader of ZS's Women's Leadership Initiative, Kelly focuses on ways to encourage women to join consulting and develops options for those who struggle to balance work and home. Kelly has faced specific challenges that come with being a woman in consulting and believes a common struggle that women – and men – face is how to successfully balance home-life with a demanding career.

“Since our profession is built around client service, this can mean travel away from home and longer, less predictable hours,” Kelly said. “Whether it is getting up very early to work – before my family is up – or leaving the office for soccer matches in the late afternoon and then finishing up later at night, I find ways to blend my two passions together.”

“My advice to young women is not to let the challenging pace of consulting intimidate you. Instead, embrace it. Embrace all that you can learn and all that you can contribute. Find a firm where you can learn and thrive and then shape your role and experience as you need to in order to integrate it with your life.”
