‘Bounce Back Benefit for Becky Nelson’ to raise funds to meet medical bills

Submitted by Bounce Back Benefit

Join the “Bounce Back Benefit for Becky Nelson” from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Kaneville Community Center, 2S101 Harter Road. The event will help raise money for Becky Nelson’s medical expenses. She is a 2004 Kaneland High graduate who was struck by a car on July 1, 2013 and suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken pelvis. Her recovery will likely include up to two years of extensive rehabilitation and therapy. As Nelson is a preschool teacher, a kid-friendly event has been organized. Kids can purchase a wristband or separate tickets to enjoy games, a jumphouse, crafts and wagon rides all afternoon while their parents enjoy music by Dave’s Not Here Band and DJ Ricky. Grab a partner and enter the bags tournament for $20 per team and maybe win a prize. Food from Paisanos and Hill’s Country Store will be available for purchase. Parents also can get their bids in on the silent auction items or take their chance on the 50/50 raffle or bucket raffle prizes. Auction items include a Kaneland Knights jersey autographed by Don Beebe, a wine tasting for a party of eight, a photo session, gift certificates and more.

Chicago Bears fans can get a raffle ticket for the chance to win two tickets to the Bears vs. Lions game on Nov. 10 at Soldier Field. If you don’t win the Bears tickets, you could be enjoying a nap on the second prize, a queen-size Sealy Mattress, or making quick work of those fall leaves with the third prize, a new Stihl Leaf Blower. Raffle tickets are available now at Old Second Bank in Elburn, Kaneville or Maple Park and at the event. They are $5 each or five tickets for $20.
