Meet the judges for Round 2, Week 1
Chefs John Junior and Suzy Singh along with previous Cook of the Week Challenge winners Penny Kazmier and Michael Pennisi continue to sit on the judging panel for Round 2. They are joined with this week by representatives from our sponsors.
Patrick J. Beach: A professor has been with Harper College in Palatine for more than two decades, Beach currently heads the Hospitality Management program. He teaches culinary arts, restaurant and hotel operations, finance and risk management. Before coming to the college he built a long career in restaurant operations in the Detroit area, serving as a cook, chef, manager and operator at various restaurants and country clubs. Beach is a longtime officer and current past president of the Northern Illinois Food Service Executive's Association and past chairman of the International Food Service Executives Association's national organization. He lives in Palatine.
Heather Lloyd: This Kentucky native cut her teeth on her grandmother's honey-baked ham and fresh-baked cornbread, but as marketing director for Woodfield Mall and mother of 16-month-old twins she doesn't have the time to cook like her grandmother did. She turns to simple recipes with few ingredients like crock pot chicken gumbo and taco soup to feed her growing family. She brings more than 16 years of event and promotion experience to the plate that will help her determine the best culinary creation.
Joanna Miller: Growing up, Miller always had a passion for baking and a sweet tooth to match. Now that she has a family of her own, they share similar cravings for baked goods and sweets. A favorite family pastime with her husband and two children is watching cooking and baking shows. When she joined America's Baking and Sweets Show as the account manager, she knew it was a perfect fit. She truly loves her work with the show, as well as working with a variety of business owners that take part in the event.
