Soccer Shots Hosts "Birthday Party" To Support Global Goals

Soccer Shots, a nationally recognized children's health and fitness franchise that uses soccer to keep kids active and teach teamwork skills, will be hosting classes for kids ages 2-6 and “Birthday Party” kids' activities on Saturday, October 19th in Lisle. The event is designed to celebrate the U.S. Soccer Foundation's 100th anniversary and raise funds for and awareness of Global Goals, Soccer Shots' philanthropic entity that allows the franchise community to join together with organizations like the U.S. Soccer Foundation to provide opportunities for growth to children in underserved areas, through soccer. The clinic and birthday party themed kids' activities in Lisle will be held indoors at Trinity Green Trails (you may know it as Grounds for Hope or KidStreet!) on Maple Ave. in Lisle and will be open to the community.

“The Soccer Shots community has made it a goal to provide developmental structure for any child in the world through the instruction of soccer,” said Carly Mondschean, Owner/Director- Soccer Shots S. DuPage. “The classes and birthday party taking place in Lisle will help us take a step in the right direction to share our love of soccer with children who need it the most. “

Soccer Shots has partnered with the U.S. Soccer Foundation since 2011 to work together to keep kids active and healthy. Global Goals and other U.S. Soccer Foundation initiatives guide children away from negative influences by providing them with safe and healthy places to play after school – the most dangerous hours of the day. Through the partnership, Soccer Shots aims to raise funds and awareness for children who live in these underserved communities in Chicago and throughout the U.S. so they have convenient and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development.

In 2012, Global Goals raised $20,000 that went towards the U.S. Soccer Foundation Urban Soccer Symposium, a program that is designed to give support to coaches and leaders across the country that are making an impact in their communities through the game of soccer.

“Global Goals is something that we are very proud of here at Soccer Shots,” said Jason Webb, co-founder of Soccer Shots. “We are projecting to match 2012's success in donations. Next year, with the continued evolution of Global Goals, we hope to raise closer to $40,000.”

The Birthday Party and Classes will offer the DuPage County community the opportunity to participate in a day filled with soccer classes run by the local chapter. Every Soccer Shots class will offer a quality, high-energy soccer program with principled instruction wrapped in fun. The curriculum emphasizes soccer skills as well as character development, creative games, and coordination, balance, and agility development. Veteran students will get a chance to showcase the skills they've learned at Soccer Shots, while first-time students have the opportunity to let their inner soccer star shine.
