Cary man gets 45 years for sexually assaulting children

A 39-year-old Cary man who police said committed “numerous sexual acts” has been sentenced to 45 years in prison, McHenry County Court records show.

Michael Scott Reck, of the 0-100 block of Wulff Street, agreed to the plea deal on Friday before Judge Sharon Prather.

Police said they identified five victims between the ages of 4 and 14 — both male and female — who were known by Reck.

Authorities began an investigation in January and took Reck into custody within a week. He was ordered held at the McHenry County jail on $580,000 bail.

Reck pleaded guilty to four crimes including predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old, two counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member under 18 years old and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member under 18 years old, court records show.
