District 214 presents annual ‘Career Nights’ programs
Township High School District 214 will host its 10th annual “Career Nights” at three high schools in October and November. Each night will focus on different career clusters highlighting various professions in each category.
The first Career Night, “Careers in Arts & Communication/Human Services,” will be at Elk Grove High School Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The second, “Careers in Health & Natural Resources,” will take place at Buffalo Grove High School Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The third and final in the series, “Careers in Engineering/Industrial Technology/Business & Computers,” will take place at Wheeling High School Wednesday, Nov. 13.
All events will begin at 7 p.m., with on-site registration beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be two break-out sessions and a networking session. Each program will conclude at 9 p.m.
With representatives from numerous businesses and industries, students and their parents will receive information on planning for the future. Presenters were selected based on a student inventory that every student completed last spring.
Top areas of interest were chosen and speakers were invited to informally talk with students about these areas. Attending a Career Night may help open the door to enrollment in the District Internship Program, as well as Education and Medical Academies.
Call Krista Paul, district internship coordinator, at (847) 718-7947 for details.
