Metallica's Hammett hosting film screening in Schaumburg

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett will be at the AMC Streets of Woodfield 20 movie theater in Schaumburg early Friday morning to introduce a screening of “Metallica Through the Never,” a part thriller, part concert film featuring the heavy metal legends.

Hammett will introduce the 12:15 a.m. showing of the film at the theater, 601 N Martingale Road. Prior to the Schaumburg appearance, he'll be in Milwaukee to introduce a 10 p.m. screening of the movie, which premiered in San Francisco earlier this months and opens nationwide this weekend at select IMAX theaters. Other Metallica members will attend showings this weekend in Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Boston and Washington, D.C.
