Wauconda Fire District hosts open house

The Wauconda Fire District will host its annual open house for the community from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Wauconda Fire District, Station 1, 109 W. Liberty St., Wauconda.

Firefighters will provide a variety of live demonstrations, displays, and informational booths. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the station and see and touch the lifesaving equipment firefighters use every day.

Visitors have the opportunity to save a life themselves by donating blood. LifeSource will be accepting donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. To schedule an appointment, call (847) 526-2821.
