Car show, art event at museum on Sunday
Combining two favorite fall special events this year, the Arlington Heights Historical Museum will host Motoring at the Museum car show and Plein Air Art, both on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the museum grounds, 110 W. Fremont St.
Hours for both events are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Rain date is Sept. 29.
All vehicles are welcome: classics, muscle cars, trucks, street rods, and new this year — motorcycles. Vehicles should enter at the corner of Fremont and Vail. Prizes will be awarded and there will be goody bags for all entries and dash plaques for the first 75 entries.
Vehicles register on site for a $10 fee. Spectators are free.
Plein Air Art is open to any outdoor artist. The artists share the inspiration and camaraderie in working in an outdoor studio without boundaries or restrictions.
The museum grounds offer a variety of subject matter which includes the beautiful gardens, its historic buildings and this year, cars. The public is invited to watch the artists work and ask about technique and media use. Artists must bring their own materials including easel and chair. The art program is free for artists and spectators.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Arlington Heights Historical Museum. (847) 255-1225 or ahmuseum.org.
