Play Youth Basketball in Palatine

Palatine Park District offers a Youth Basketball League for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. The goal of the league is to provide a fun, fair and safe experience for all to enjoy. The program emphasizes the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, and teamwork through league play. Teams practice for one hour each week at a local school gym, and games are held on Saturdays at various times. Teams will start practicing the week of October 21st, and games will be played from November 9 through March 15.

Rating days are held at Community Center, 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine, and are required for all players who are new to the league. The rating days for boys in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 will be held on September 23 and the rating day for boys in grade 7 and girls in grades 3 through 8 will be held on September 25.

To register, a separate Youth Basketball League registration form is required. The form can be downloaded from the website, www.palatineparks.org, or is available at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center, and Falcon Park Recreation center. The league fee is $140 for residents and $175 for non-residents.

The park district offers a separate basketball league for boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grades. This league will be held from January 11 through March 15 at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road, Palatine. Teams will practice one evening per week, with games played on Saturdays. Registration for this league can be done online, by mail, by fax, or in person at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center or Falcon Park Recreation Center. The league fee is $85 for residents and $106 for non-residents.
