AID announces plans for 'Putting on the Ritz' fundraiser

The 2013 Association for Individual Development auction fundraiser, “Putting on the Ritz” will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd., Geneva. Tickets to attend the fundraiser are $100 each or $950 for a table for 10.

Proceeds will help AID continue its mission of empowering individuals with disabilities, mental illness and special needs to achieve independence and community inclusion.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, 10 for $40 or 30 for $100. Purchase tickets before Tuesday, Sept. 3 and receive double the purchased amount.

Each basket has a minimum value of $1,000. The baskets include: “Steppin' Out in the Burbs,” “Pampering Pleasure,” “Fore the Golfer,” “Corner Office,” “Gourmet Delight,” “Cocktail Hour,” “Outdoor Living,” “Chicago, Chicago!,” “Evenings In and Around Elgin,” or the grand prize of $1,000 cash.

Here are some of the basket offerings:

“Chicago, Chicago!”: $300 gift certificate for Burnham Hotel (5-star boutique hotel); overnight stay at Hotel Felix (4-star Boutique Hotel); $150 Visa gift card; $75 Macy's gift card (Macy's across from the Burnham); $100 gift certificate from Mon Ami Gabi French Bistro; $50 gift certificate from Wildfire Steakhouse; $50 in gift certificates from Big Bowl Restaurant; $50 gift certificate from Café Ba-Ba-Reeba (Spanish tapas); four admission tickets to “Sky Deck Chicago!”; two tickets for “Untouchable Chicago Gangster Tour”; and four general admission tickets to the Shedd Aquarium.

“Steppin' Out in the Burbs”: $100 gift certificate from The Turf Room in North Aurora; $100 gift certificate from The Office Restaurant in St. Charles; overnight stay at Pheasant Run in St. Charles; four tickets for “Bronx Wanderers” on Nov. 10 at the Arcada in St. Charles; two tickets to see the “Molly Ringwald Jazz Quartet” on Oct. 5 at the Arcada in St. Charles; four tickets to see Chicago Dance on Nov. 9 in Fermilab's Ramsey Auditorium in Batavia; ticket vouchers for two to the Fox Valley Repertory; and $25 gift certificates from the following restaurants: Houlihan's (various locations), Nosh (Geneva), Olive Garden (various locations), Open Range Grill (Sugar Grove), Rookies (St. Charles), Tap House Grill (St. Charles), and Wok n' Fire (St. Charles).

“Outdoor Living”: Better Homes & Garden stainless steel gas grill (four burners); hammock, single fabric 11-foot with stand and pillow; $100 gift certificate from Wasco Nursery & Nursery Center; assorted plant pots and gardening accessories; picnic basket with bottle of wine, cooler with wheels; trellis and gardening tools; six Morton Arboretum admission passes; gardening books; and a $25 gift certificate from Spring Hill Nursery.

“Evenings In and Around Elgin”: $100 gift certificate to Buckingham's Steakhouse and Lounge and two dinner for two gift certificates for Indulge Buffet from Grand Victoria Casino; two tickets to a 2013-14 Elgin Symphony Orchestra concert; Prezzo Fisso package of one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and a bottle of wine from Villa Verone (Elgin or Geneva); two tickets to “Cocktails with Larry Miller” on Oct. 12 from Elgin Community College Arts Center; two tickets to “Corky Siegel/Old Town School” on Feb. 15 from Elgin Community College Arts Center; $70 gift certificate from Amici's Clubhouse in South Elgin; $50 gift certificate from Chili's (various locations); $50 gift certificate from Niko's Lodge (various locations); $40 in gift certificates from Outback Steak House in South Elgin; two dinner for four certificates from Noodles and Company; $50 gift certificate from Marcus Theaters (Elgin); $40 in gift certificates from Martini Lounge in Elgin; four admission tickets for the October “Nightmare on Chicago Street” in downtown Elgin; $25 gift certificates from the following restaurants: Houlihan's (Algonquin), Jimmy's Char House (Elgin) and Village Squire (South Elgin); and $20 gift certificates from Elgin Public House Restaurant and Pub and Chooch's Pizzeria.
