Digital Magazines Available from the West Chicago Public Library District

The West Chicago Public Library District, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books of Prince Frederick, MD, is pleased to announce the availability of Zinio for Libraries. Awarded Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, Zinio is the world's largest newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications.

Through the Library's website (www.westchicago.lib.il.us), patrons of the West Chicago Public Library have unlimited simultaneous access to more than 50 complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside the library. Zinio's unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation and key word article search.

Consumer Reports, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Readers Digest are just a few of the popular titles available. Many Spanish-language titles are also available, including Automovil Panamericano, Cocina Fácil, Cinemanía Mexico, and Cosmopolitan en Español.

“As formats change, the public library plays an increasingly important role in making sure that digital content is available to its users,” says Adult Services Manager Benjamin Weseloh. “The Zinio magazine collection allows us to continue expanding the variety of information sources for our patrons available in digital format.”

If you would like more information on how to access digital magazines through the library's website, please give us a call. Feel free to make an appointment to bring in your device for a demonstration.
