Dundee Township Rotary Club installs new officers and names Rotarian of the Year
Erik Gullickson, financial advisor at Raymond James Financial Services, Inc in Crystal Lake, was elected as the 2013-14 president of the Dundee Township Rotary Club and officially took office on July 1, 2013. He succeeds attorney James Bolz of West Dundee.
Ralph Helm, Sr., retired member of the Elgin Noon Rotary Club and past Rotary District 6440 assistant governor, gave the oath of office to Gullickson and the incoming Dundee Township Rotary club board members. Helm and his wife Vera were special guests at the installation dinner held at the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation in East Dundee.
Members of the Dundee Township Rotary Club board of directors include Matt VanHoeven, Gary Gundersen, Mary Stanley, Ray Earhardt, Craig Zielienewski, Curt McReynolds, Cheryl Wendt, and Jim Bolz.
As president, Gullickson said, “My goal is to continue to educate the community about the contributions of our club for student scholarships, FISH food pantry donations and many other special projects. We invite others to join in serving this great Club. ”
Before the installation of the new president, Jim Bolz honored member Mary Stanley with the Rotarian of the Year Award. “Mary has made a significant difference in our club,” Bolz said. “She is instrumental in helping our club grow with new members and her dedication with our new successful Thanks Giving Back Raffle, which raised $10,000 we have given back to the Dundee Township community.”
There are 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 31,000 clubs in more than 163 countries. The main objective of Rotary International is service, in the community, and throughout the world. As volunteers, Rotarians build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations.
The Rotary Club of Dundee Township, founded in 1980, currently has 42 members who represent a cross-section of business and professional backgrounds.
