Island Lake blog shut down

A long-running blog about Island Lake politics and events unceremoniously closed over the weekend. The site, at theblog1.com, once was run by then-Trustee Laurie Rabattini and then by a series of activists who largely opposed Mayor Debbie Herrmann and supported new Mayor Charles Amrich and his allies. A note posted on the blog Saturday encourages people to follow a new Island Lake Facebook page, facebook.com/voil.staff.
