Fox Lake business snubbed at closing

As of July 19, Darlene Barnes, owner of Marine Grill, closed her business after 54 years.

As my friends and I sat there, no village official came in to congratulate Darlene or to thank her for 54 years of service in their town.

When the Ace store closed after 53 years, the previous mayor, Ed Bender, gave the owner a plaque for his years in town.

I think the village officials dropped the ball on this one. Shame on them.
