Mussman goes door-to-door to listen to constituents

State Rep. Michelle Mussman, a Democrat from Schaumburg, is spending her time away from the Capitol visiting door-to-door to listen to her neighbors, and discuss her work to rein in government spending and balance the state’s budget.

“Even though the legislature has adjourned for the summer, I will continue to talk with everyone about their concerns for state and local government,” Mussman said. “Since taking office, I have worked consistently to eliminate wasteful government spending, create jobs and force legislators to cut their own pay. Walking door-to-door allows me to better represent the concerns of our community down in the capitol. It has always been my goal to serve as the strongest advocate for the district, fighting for more property tax relief, lowering taxes and holding government officials accountable.”

In addition to walking door-to-door to listen to constituents, Mussman — a full-time state representative — regularly hosts and attends topic specific community meetings, visits area employers and calls constituents to discuss the issues facing the state. This summer, Mussman will also host town hall meetings, an open forum opportunity for her constituents to ask questions and express their opinions on state and local issues.
