Man beats Chicago clerk for not carrying XXXL tank tops

Authorities say a store clerk in Chicago was beaten with a baseball bat after telling an angry patron that the retailer didn’t carry extended-size tank tops.

Chicago Police say a man went into a store on the city’s far west side on Tuesday morning and asked if it stocked the sleeveless shirts in size 3XL.

The 51-year-old clerk told the man that the store didn’t carry the size. Investigators say that’s when the customer pulled out a baseball bat and started beating the employee.

Police say Wednesday morning that no arrests have been made.

The clerk was treated at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center for head lacerations and later released.
