Veterans should march behind police

For the life of me I can’t understand why the American Legion and VFW members had to march behind the Redman Wrecking trucks in the Hoffman Estates July 4th parade.

It seems to me that men who have served our country, many in time of war, afford a better place in this parade.

I understand why the police come first, but why is Redman in second place?
