Dining events: Seasonal fruits, veggies star at LongHorn Steakhouse
Longhorn's peak menu
Peak season yumminess recently hit LongHorn Steakhouse's menus with new items like parmesan-crusted asparagus ($6.99), fire-grilled corn on the cob brushed with smoky ranch and parmesan cheese ($3.99), ranch house Cobb salad ($5.49) and very berry grilled pound cake ($5.29).

e+o's family cookout
Celebrate Independence Day family-style with a prix fixe barbecue platter at e+o food and drink. Eats include a 12-hour beef brisket, pork ribs “char siu” style and Creole dusted smoked wings. Sides include duck confit potato salad, smoked black beans, Carolina coleslaw and mango-jalepeno cornbread. Available July 4 to 7. Catch a lunch version for $15 per adult and $7.50 ages 6 to 12; or dinner for $25 per adult and $12.50 ages 6 to 12.

Waterleaf wine dinner
Waterleaf's summer wine dinner begins at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7. The pairings are too much to list but include shrimp and vegetable spring rolls; smoked salmon canapes, and duo of roasted pheasant breast and crispy pheasant spring roll and a lemon mousse dessert. Wines include 2010 Lioco chardonnay, Sonoma County, California; Mountain Cuvée, Napa Valley, California; 2006 Chateau Laribotte, Sauternes, Bordeaux, France. $99 per person.
