No salaries for pols until state solvent
No salaries for pols until state solvent
While you were sleeping, retired teacher Beverly Lopatka walked away with a retirement of almost $400,000 and is now spending Illinois taxpayers’ money in another state. Some politicians were surprised at the loophole, which was implemented around 1947.
Illinois politicians claim they are trying to balance the budget and come up with a fair pension plan, what they ate supposed to be paid to do. They were not paid to use teacher retirement money as piggy bank.
Know what I’d like to see done? Since our inept politicians got us in this financial mess. they should work sans salaries, pensions, perks until Illinois is solvent. At that time our politicians deserve the reduced salaries, health benefits, perks and pensions they ae going to give state employees. When it comes to Illinois politicians, apparently good help is very hard to find.
