Schaumburg police looking for strong-arm robber

Schaumburg police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a strong-arm robbery that occurred Monday night.

According to police, a Schaumburg woman was approaching the entrance of a condominium building on the 300 block of South Roselle Road at approximately 8:34 p.m. June 17 when two teenage boys approached. One of the teens grabbed a gold necklace from the woman’s neck and ran away.

The woman was not injured and no weapons were displayed.

The woman described her attacker as a black male, 15 to 16 years old, 6 feet tall with a thin build. She assisted police in the creation of a computer-generated likeness.

Schaumburg detectives are investigating two similar robberies that occurred elsewhere in the village last month. Anyone who may recognize the suspect’s likeness or have information on any of these crimes is asked to call the Schaumburg Police Department Investigations Division at (847) 882-3534.

Police also ask that residents immediately report suspicious persons by calling 911.
