‘Skating with the Starz’ show aids Condell cancer program
Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills will host the second annual “Skating with the Starz” to benefit the Advocate Condell Cancer Care program Saturday, June 22.
Beginning at 7 p.m., attendees can experience an ice show extravaganza featuring nationally renowned figure skaters, including 2014 Olympic hopefuls Gracie Gold and Max Aaron. The arena is at 670 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills.
Devised by local figure skater and Carmel High School student Jizelle Chloe Bacani, the event will offer the opportunity for the audience to skate with the “stars” following the formal program.
“Not only is this event fun for the community, but it also helps us continue to provide supportive services to cancer patients, along with advanced treatment options,” said Kathleen Hill, oncology nurse navigator at Advocate Condell Medical Center.
General admission tickets are $10; free for kids ages 3 and younger. Premium seating is available on the ice, with cash bar and hors d’oeuvres, for $300 per table of 10 or $30 per seat. Skating time with the stars and skate rental are included in all ticket prices.
New this year, a meet-and-greet add-on option is available for $15. Prior to the main event, meet-and-greet ticketholders will have the opportunity to get an autograph and photo with Gracie Gold.
“We are proud to support such a great cause by bringing this event back to Glacier Ice Arena,” said Karen Kay Lavris, the arena’s marketing director. “We encourage anyone in the community to come, stand up with us and Condell against cancer.”
