Ladies "Rally for the Cure" golf tournament planned

The Mt. Prospect Golf Club's Monday morning Ladies Golf League will hold a “Rally for the Cure” tournament at the course, 600 S. See-Gwun Ave., Mount Prospect, on June 24 to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The tournament will be sponsored by Golf for Women magazine.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women, ages 35 to 54, and 75 percent of all cancer deaths in women over 55 are caused by breast cancer, according to Carolyn Erickson, chairman of the event.

Prizes for various games, like a closest to the pin contest on the seventh hole, will be awarded. In addition, all of the participants will wear pink and be photographed in a group photo.
