Dillard’s no friend of public workers
Dillard’s no friend of public workers
On May 29, Kirk Dillard of Hinsdale was one of 16 state senators who voted in favor of SB1.
The bill, cobbled together by Mike Madigan, blatantly disregarded the Illinois Constitution. It punished upward of 1 million active and retired public employees by seriously diminishing their constitutionally protected employment and pension guarantees.
There have been news stories indicating that Sen. Dillard plans to run for governor again in 2014. If true, how can the senator expect any public employee support? He should reasonably expect heavy opposition.
Fortunately, SB1 was defeated in the Senate.
