Diminishing stature of the presidency

What a sad, sad day in American history, when we have the president and his secretary of state deliberately lying to the American public. And, of course, I’m talking about the Benghazi disaster.

Most of the administration’s phony “talking points” were put to rest when three state department employees, who were there, came forward and told what happened. The No. 2 man in charge, just below the ambassador himself, Gregory Hicks stated that he had talked to Mrs. Clinton at 2 a.m. during the attack telling her they were under attack.

Never was there a mention of any video, or a spontaneous demonstration. These were dreamed up so as to avoid admitting Muslim extremist had attacked us. Remember, the president had told us over and over at his convention that Al Quida was on the run. Not a bit of truth to that statement. In fact Beth Jones the acting assistant secretary of state for near eastern affairs sent an email on Sept. 12 saying. “the group that conducted the attacks, Ansaral-Sharia, is affiliated with Islamic terrorist.”

None of these facts stopped the president and Mrs. Clinton from spreading the lie about the video and the spontaneous attack. In fact 10 days later the president went before the United Nations and told them five times is was a video and he and Mrs. Clinton made a short video them selves and distributed it overseas apologizing for “that video.”

It’s one thing to make campaign promises you know you can’t keep, or to exaggerate what’s going to happen during the sequester, but to make up a lie to defend your position, completely undermines the stature of the presidency.
