Poll Vault: What’s the best suburban festival?

Let’s give a 21-corn dog salute to the return of festival season this weekend.
From now until Labor Day, the calendar will be chock-full of carnivals and entertainment.
What’s your favorite suburban fest? Do you have a summer tradition of attending, for example, Eyes to the Skies in Lisle or Frontier Days in Arlington Heights?
What’s the biggest draw for you: the food, the parades, the music or the rides?

Despite the heat, a large crowd turned out to hear the legendary Charlie Daniels and his famous fiddle last year at Frontier Days in Arlington Heights. Frontier Days is scheduled for July 3-7 this year in Recreation Park.

Naperville Mayor George Pradel helped judge the entries at Ribfest last summer. Ribfest has more than a dozen rib vendors lined up for this years event, July 3-7 in Knoch Park.
