Dist. 21 names new London School pirncipal

Robert Gurney, the assistant principal of Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove, will become principal of London Middle School in Wheeling when school starts again this fall. He replaces James Parker, who is leaving Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 to become the principal of Lincoln Hall Middle School in Lincolnwood. Gurney, who has been a dean, math resource teacher and 7th grade teacher in District 21, was introduced at the May 16 school board meeting. The principal search was conducted by Superintendent Kate Hyland and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Patricia McAndrews Smith.
