Palatine Park District to host trail cleanup
In recognition of National Trails Day, the Palatine Park District Environmental Committee is hosting a community cleanup of the Palatine Hills Trail from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 1.
Both individuals and community groups are invited to volunteer to help pick up debris on the trail between the golf course and Dundee Road. Volunteers should wear work gloves, comfortable closed-toed shoes, and long pants. Parking will be available at the entrance to the Palatine Hills Golf Course, 512 W. Northwest Hwy., in Palatine.
Both individuals and groups are welcome to attend. Giveaways, water and snacks will be provided. The day features a series of outdoor activities designed to promote and celebrate the importance of trails in the United States.
