Mt. Prospect Public Works Department open house Saturday

The Mount Prospect Public Works Department is hosting its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Mount Prospect Public Works building, 1700 W. Central Road. Public Works is responsible for services including the water and sewer system, solid waste, snow plowing, tree maintenance, streets and sidewalks. The open house is to show residents the different responsibilities of the department in a fun and entertaining way. It features prizes, tours, rides in aerial trucks and street sweepers, a children’s fun fact hunt, and displays demonstrating how the water system, sewer system, parkway trees, buildings, streets and vehicles are maintained. Kids can meet PW Paws, the department mascot. Refreshments will be provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club.
