Schaumburg High School Band Awards Concert on May 21st.
The Schaumburg High School Music Department will present its annual Band Awards Concert on May 21, 2013. The concert will be held in the school's main gymnasium at 7:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
The evening will feature performances by the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Cadet Band and Red Eye Brass. Two students will be showcased: junior euphonium, River Tuason on the Hummel Trumpet Concerto and freshman alto saxophone, Jemi Kim on the jazz classic Harlem Nocturne. Other composers on this program include: Sosa, King, Schubert, Walton, Elgar, Grainger and Claude T. Smith.
This evening will also include recognition of the band's Class of 2013, scholarships and end-of-year awards. There will be a reception in the student cafeteria immediately following the concert.
